Redallia Hellrose

Redallia Hellrose, Perhaps my most psychotic roleplay character. She suffers from Schizophrenia so naturally she is paranoid.

So much accessories for her. I drew this after state testing so I had about an hour and a half each day to work on the sketch before I actually began shading it. I'm rather pleased with how it turned out.

Name: Redalia Helrose (Red for short)
Gender: female
Age: 19

Physical Appearance: Redalia is an unhealthily skinny girl. There is not an ounce of fat between her skin and bones. Her pale complexion shares the same qualities of a corpse's skin due to both anemia and lack of sunlight. Her eyes are an eerie red-brown, more often than not blood shot with dark circles beneath them from countless nights of little to no sleep. Her long straight red hair is a dark almost blood-hued red, often times unkempt, unwashed, and hanging in her face. One particular section in the front of her hair is askew from the rest, warped by constant twistings. She is tall, standing at almost six feet. A tattoo of a rose is on her left arm, its stem drawn spiraling down her arm.

Personality:
Redalia has Schizophrenia, a condition where she sees/hears hallucinations, disordered thinking, and is paranoid and has delusions. Her condition also makes her purposelessly agitated, and refrain from major social contact. When agitated or nervous she will begin to repetitively twirl a section of her hair or brush/pluck at her shirt, skin, or clothes.

She has a distinctly strong fear of the ceiling collapsing on her. Usually she is not violent unless prompted by hear uncontrollable fears or hallucinations.

Aside from her Schizophrenia Redalia is a serious youth who takes little joy in being the butt of the joke and telling jokes unless it is with dry and very heavy sarcasm. She has an obsession with making deals and betting as it is usually how she gets her amusement. She shows difficulty with ongoing relationships. Believing that almost everyone and everything is out to kill her, it is near impossible for her to fully trust anyone. She has a distinctly strong fear of the ceiling collapsing on her. Usually she is not violent unless prompted by hear uncontrollable fears or hallucinations.

History:
Redalia's childhood was average with few hardships. Her family was not well off but they had a home to live and food to put on the table. When Redalia was six, though, an earthquake hit. Their house, hanging onto its last limb, managed to survive except for the ceiling in Redalia's room. It caved, killing her pet kitten at the time as well as giving Red the life long fear of ceilings.

Nothing eventful happened for Red until she turned fourteen, school, homework, and summer breaks. Although it is rare to see Schizophrenia develop in adolescence, for Redalia, when she turned fourteen she began to hear voices. They had little influence over her at first as they were oftentimes just ignored. The voices were never mentioned, Redalia having assumed that they were normal and it was just not proper to bring up such things.

By the time she was fifteen, her paranoia and the voices were beginning to rule more and more of her mind and in addition she saw her first visual hallucination, a young kitten that she named Bloo. She became reclusive and showed difficulty retaining relationships. She grew distant from her friends, often times coming up with ways that they were conspiring against her and reasons why she should avoid them.

Just before she turned sixteen Redalia shot and murdered her older brother. She made no move to hide the fact that she killed him except for running to a friends house where she was inevitably captured. Her trial went by quickly. It was at this time that Redalia learned that not everyone heard voices, or saw things no one else could see. She was diagnosed with Paranoid Schizophrenia and placed into a mental institution. This is where Redalia met and befriended the head psychiatrists/psychologists daughter, Mariah Grey, and made her escape with the help of inside knowledge. Mariah's mother took the blame in the breach of security, allowing her daughters record to go on scot free. This left Mariah open to help the older girl find safety, and when she did that was in the form of a small gang of orphans and runaways. Redalia stayed with them for nearly two years, eventually leading them although her condition made her disorganized and fearful. From this time she retains a certain trust and kindness for children.

Eventually she was found when her voices compelled her to stab and fatally wound a cop after he stumbled upon her, and her little gang’s hide out at an abandoned building, formerly a pet shop. Her excuse was the same that she "had to kill him before he killed her". This time around though she was tried as an adult rather than an adolescent. Nineteen then, they admitted her into a higher security mental facility where she remains though for how long?
